RVCA is the brainchild of company Founder and Creative Director, PM Tenore. Transcending the boundaries of traditional action sports apparel, RVCA is a design-driven lifestyle brand free from passing trends. Appearing as a natural on the shelves of boutiques as on those of a local skate shop, RVCA is brought together by a group of likeminded individuals from various subcultures, a collaboration of sorts, a lifestyle within itself.
PM Tenore’s intention from the very beginning has been to create a platform for RVCA, which combines art, music, fashion and a modern lifestyle in an original way. At the forefront of this vision has been RVCA’s Artist Network Program (ANP) – a venture established to showcase the talents of accomplished as well as unknown artists who inspire our generation and push the boundaries of creative excellence.
Established to promote the genuine integrity of RVCA’s subcultures while simultaneously giving back to the community, RVCA in essence is redefining the way the market views art and fashion as represented through the balance of opposites and how they coexist: water, oil; air, land; destruction, industrialization; art, science; foreign, domestic; order, anarchy; past, present.
For RVCA, it is about today, tomorrow and life as the big picture. It is about inspiring our generation, providing something of substance and culture and above all doing it with integrity and as a united family, a close-knit community.

Hi Guys,
You tell us what ANP stands for, several times, but you are silent about RVCA, and VA. I love the VA logo, but I would be stupid to wear a logo of initials, that I DON’T KNOW what they stand for. That would be silly. Tell me, and I will probably buy some of your stuff. But, I don’t want to be a “Virgin Ass”, or have “Vaginal Anxiety”. You know?
So, can you please tell me what your mystery acronyms stand for?

Didn’t think that it was a big secret that RVCA is actually pronounced “RUCA” and is the word for clothes in Greek.
@Jon- I don’t think he was talking about “RVCA.” I think he was just talking about “VA.”
The VA, goes to show the balance of opposites. it represents the entire company in the simplest way, its perfect. Pat Tenore is a marketing genius.
Whats the meaning of VA? Why dont you use RCVA instead VA? Is it the same thing?? Or VA is the signture of RVCA in mma? Confused…

I always thought the RC was ” Recession Collection” and the VA were arrows meanings opposites, not actually the letters V A.
I have been a big supporter of RVCA from day one and considered it to be my favorite labels until RVCA began supporting UFC and the metro meat heads that follow it.
I associate RVCA with creativity.. Art, Photography, Music, Surfing and Skateboarding.. “like minded individuals from various subcultures”
Beating people up for a living is not creative and I hardly think the artists that create your t-shirts are “like minded” to a UFC fighter.
